Combining the advantages of air and O2 combustion
The AIROX® process with combined combustion of air and fuel and/or oxyfuel ("oxyfuel")
The AIROX® burner enables aluminum companies to make their production more flexible and adapt to the ever-changing demands of the market. By using oxygen or oxygen-enriched gases during the melting process and switching to air during the waiting period, operating costs can be reduced for any smelter.
In addition, AIROX® allows the use of different air/oxygen mixtures during melting and holding when only lower productivity is required. AIROX® allows the operator to quickly switch between 100% oxygen and 100% air operation, with each mix ratio adjustable between pure air and pure oxygen operation.
Flameless/semi-flameless O2 burner without increased dross formation
For the transport of liquid aluminum inside and outside the plant, casting and transport pans are often preheated. The heating of ladles can be accelerated by oxygen burners from Linde. Preheated ladles allow a lower casting temperature of the aluminum, since the temperature difference between the cladding and the liquid metal is lower. In transport pans, heating times are drastically reduced, resulting in more flexible operation.
Maximum flexibility through regulation of the flame length
The special design of the FLEXFLAMETM burner combines a compact size with excellent flame forming properties. This results in greater flexibility in melting performance, lower emission values, lower energy consumption and decreasing costs - guaranteed!
FLEXFLAMETM is the new standard in oxygen burner technology. This new generation of oxygen torches allows the melter to control the length of the flame without changing the performance of the torch or mechanical parts such as nozzles. The use of different flame geometries reduces energy consumption and the oxidation (dross formation) of aluminum.
